I’m a member of several Mazda enthusiast Facebook pages. And they hate on my car 24/7. Really?
News flash, the MazdaSpeed 3 is nice but it’s not the second coming. I didn’t want a Speed. If I did, I’d have bought one. My daily commute is 100% stop-and-go traffic and never exceeds 45-50 miles-per-hour. All that extra power would be pointless and would just make my insurance twice what it is (I know because my insurance was high enough for my regular 3 when I bought it in 2009) It’s called growing up. Make educated decisions instead of what is “cool.” I’m happy with my car and I don’t want a plastidipped Speed 3 like every other member of those pages.
Pic of my car for your time. God forbid I have an automatic car. I know it causes others physical pain? Or at least that's the way it seems.

Agree. I feel the same because although it’s not like the 2.4 V50 receives hate as much as it goes unrecognized and therefore unappreciated...lower performance variants of fast cars are often even better since they have all the running gear tuned for speed without the actual speed, so you can go “fast” without getting caught :)

I know the feels on the automatic front. People almost sound disappointed when I tell them the M3 is an auto. Sometimes I just wanna say “Well damn, it’s a good thing I like it and it’s my car.”

To be honest this is why I don’t fuck with stuff like that. There’s ALWAYS some bullshit drama or some cornball talking shit. I stick to Oppo and one car forum at this point.
Your car is nice, you made the decision you thought was best for your situation don’t let anyone get you tight about it. My ‘14 C300 has been called boring, slow, an old man’s car, a girl’s car, cheap and ugly but I just laugh about it and let it go.

That’s why I can’t stand a lot of the JDM communities (mazda, honda and subaru mostly), all anyone ever has to say is, slam it bro, tint your windows bro, plastidip it purple bro. Of course there are exceptions to the rule.

Yea f that noise. I drive a mk5 rabbit, and I would honestly not trade it for a mk5 gti. People give me shit for it, but most of the general public, including a lot of “car people” think it's a gti anyway. Your car is cool, clean look.

The vent visors were $20 and enable me to leave the windows cracked and not worry about rain, and with the tinted windows they are barely noticeable. And the eyelids help it look less “bug-eyed.”

Omg brother!! I have a 2007 automatic mazda3 3 hatch in true red too, I once attended a mazdas247 meet and some seemed nice but it seemed they were more about the speed3 than anything. However I agree with you, when I bought my car I had to commute 50 miles daily and a manual was too much in dc traffic.

I have been repairing the body work on my car and some dweebs in their moms old lexus were looking back at my primered and body filled quarter panel and were laughing. I dont get it. What is funny? Are they just that stupid that they dont know how car are repaired?
I wanted to pull one of those dorks out of the window and give him a talkin to. It still bugs me obviously because i think I just cant figure out why it was so hilarious and confused at how someone could be so stupid as to not understand that my car is being worked on. Or maybe just too sensitive to driving a ugly looking car for the time being.

I absolutely love my 09 Sport 5dr hatch manual. It’s silver but that warm metal flake red yours is in is fabulous - honestly, and I am not exaggerating - one of the top 10 paint colors in he last 20 years right up there with BMW Laguna Seca blue. They are not everybody’s gig, (I regularly get the, “why do you drive an economy car?” comment) which persists until right about the time I tuck into a slow corner at twice the posted and leave everybody else in the dust...

It wasn’t always like that.. I’m glad I left that community before it became like that.. I’m sorry to hear dude.. I had a 2004 3s with an auto as well.. a lot of people did.. there was no hate for anyone except the trolls. Unfortunate :(

Amen, brother. I like my automatic. I don't want to shift gears 87,000 times a day as I sit at the same intersection through 3 different light changes. If I had fun back roads and no traffic each day, then a manual would be fun. But for a daily driver around here, with my commute? No.
